Prologue to
A Dream of Judgment

One night while lying in my bed
And troubled thoughts spun 'round my head
I, restless, slept; then came a dream--
       Confused, bewildered--it did seem
               Impending doom about to fall
Upon me, when I heard a call.
                       My thoughts bewildered did congeal
And vision cleared--it seemed so real.
I, in my vision, turned about
As suddenly I heard a shout
With trumpet blast that called mankind
From grave and home; and in my mind
I saw the vaulted heavens furled,
And heaven's stars to earth were hurled--
And Jesus came to judge the world!

Then heard I someone call my name
As I stood trembling there among
The nations gathered in that throng.
"COME FORTH," said He, and so I came.
